Painted in water colour and oil, mainly nautical subject matter. Although there are many local scenes within his portfolio including Carshalton, Leith Hill, Gomshall, Abinger Hammer and Nonsuch Palace.
David spent the whole of his working life in Graphics until retirement in 1986. This is reflected in the strength of his composition, drawing and fluent use of colour. The majority of his work was produced en plein air.
Council member of the Chelsea Art Society (1974-85), Vice President from 1991.
Art training included attendance at Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts (1940), St Martins School of Art and Central School of Art. Studied under the tuition of Vivian Pitchforth R.A.R.W.S.
Exhibitions: RSMA. Armed Forces, Omell Galleries, Piccadilly. Work in private collections, Europe, USA, Far East, South Africa.
Commissions include BP and Eagle Star.
